is a photographic portfolio by Simon Brinck. He enjoys music, close friends, old cameras, and long walks on the beach.

There is nothing like being left alone again, to walk peacefully with oneself in the woods. To boil one's coffee and fill one's pipe, and to think idly and slowly as one does it. Day by day I grow more knowing in the ways of the trees and the moss and the snow on the ground, and all things are my friends. You are welcome to your intellectual pastimes and books and art and newspapers; welcome, too, to your bars and your whisky that only makes me ill. Here am I in the forest, quite content.

The gear used to make the images on this site includes:
a 1994 Nikon F90, 28-80mm lens
a 1982 Nikon FG, 35-70mm lens
a Panasonic GF1, 20mm 1.7 lens
a Fujifilm X100, 23mm 2.0 lens
a 1996 Mamiya M645 with various lenses and various single-use cameras.
